My 3-hour plant stitching workshop is the perfect event for a group of creative friends, a craft organisation or as an educational activity.
I have tried and tested this masterclass with many different sized groups of beginner students, and think it is perhaps the best way in to free motion embroidery. It’s also a lot of fun! I will guide you through the process of creating beautiful, quirky textile illustrations. Together, we will work from plants that you have in your house (or images of plants), sketching them first to get used to the ‘free’, quick motion, then transferring this feeling to the machine. We’ll then do some writing and scribbling on the sewing machine to get used to the motion, and gradually build up to plant-like shapes, and add fabric applique plant pots! Both you and your group will be amazed with what you come away with.
